Matthew apparently was also a member of other bands- certainly Local Heroes, Bruce Woolley, Bobby Henry and Knox. Matthew’s natural charm and bonhomie must have helped him to achieve this, which with most people would be a desperate tightrope act. And he was a fast learner. Local Heroes’ ‘Stabbed In The Heart Again’ starts as you’d expect with a very distinctive bass groove. The punch line is sung repeatedly in the tone of voice that you’d expect for what it’s saying.
